Non Degree Students

Students who do not to plan to seek a degree from Webster may request approval to take undergraduate courses at the university as a non-degree student.  If you are a non-degree seeking student you can apply online. 

Non-degree status at Webster Geneva is possible only for Swiss citizens or applicants that hold a valid residence permit (not a student permit).

How to Apply    

Apply online and prepare to submit the following documents:

  • Unofficial transcripts that show the cumulative grade point average.  A 2.5 GPA is required.
  • Copies of external examinations such as the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement exams, Swiss Maturité, French Baccalaureate, etc
  • English proficiency results from either a TOEFL or IELTS test.
  • A short statement explaining why you are interested in taking courses at Webster.
  • Photocopy of passport biographical page, plus any current residence permit or visa for Switzerland.
  • An updated résumé or curriculum vitae.

Note: Additional documentation might be requested by the Admissions Committee, and you may be requested to provide translations of certain documents listed above. All application documents submitted to Webster University become the property of the university and cannot be returned or reproduced. Keep a copy of all documents submitted.  The application fee of CHF 35 is non-refundable.

Evaluation of your Application

Each application is reviewed by the Admissions Committee. We look for evidence of your potential to be successful at Webster University. Primary consideration is given to your academic performance,  the rigor and content of your coursework, and your documented English language proficiency.

Admissions Requirements

Non-degree students follow the same admissions requirements as full-time students.  

  • The minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4 point scale, or its equivalent. Academic achievement in programs that use a different assessment scale is evaluated in the context of the relevant academic system.
  • The English language proficiency minimum requirement is a TOEFL score of 550 points on the Paper-based test (PBT) or 80 points Internet-based test (iBT) or an IELTS score Overall band 6.0.

Non-degree students are allowed to take up to 30 credits.  Students interested in taking more than 30 credits must submit a new degree-seeking application.
