Undergraduate AdmissionsTransfer to Webster University - Or, begin your studies here and transfer your credits abroad

Special update: Options during Covid-19

As a fully American-accredited university in Europe, we offer credits that are transferable to other recognized universities in the U.S., U.K. or Canada.  We offer courses on a broad range of subjects that can either be applied toward your major or as electives toward your degree.

Start here and transfer credits abroad!
If travel restrictions are keeping you from returning to your original university, or from beginning your original plan to start your bachelor overseas, our university allows visiting students to join for a semester or a year, to earn transfer credits to take abroad.  Read more here about the "Start Here, Transfer Abroad" option.

You can simply apply as a non-degree seeking student (and EU citizens can fast-track this process, as they will not need a student visa to study at Webster in Geneva).

Don't let the coronavirus keep you from beginning your degree this year!  Reach out to us at admissions@webster.ch (or call us at +41.22.959.8080 for an appointment).

Transferring to Webster from other Universities

Each year, dozens of students transfer to Webster University Geneva from Swiss universities and from other institutions around the globe.  Some are looking for smaller class sizes and a more personal experience, while others are choosing Webster because of our academic programs and the potential internship and career opportunities in Switzerland.

If you're looking to change your university for your bachelor, to change your major or if your original program abroad was not the right fit, transferring institutions allows you to reboot or even to accelerate your university career.  Webster can provide you with advanced standing due to your transferable credits from another institutionally-accredited university, along with the chance to start anew, with a fresh Grade Point Average.

We recognize transfer credits from accredited universities (from within the EU, U.S. or other universities around the globe) and some applicants also bring credits for their former high school program.  Webster recognizes IB diploma courses, Swiss matu and French bacc, A-levels, or AP exams from secondary school, for example, all of which can reduce the time to complete the bachelor program.

How to take the next step

Webster courses are offered in both half-semester (8-week) and full-semester (16-week) courses, and we have a summer term as well.  So we offer five different entry dates throughout the year for transfers into our bachelor program.

Our admissions team in Geneva will work with you through the admissions process.

Visiting Students
If you are interested in being a visiting student for a semester or an academic year, for example, you can complete an online application as a 'non-degree seeking' student, and take courses that you will need for your future university program.  Should you eventually decide to stay at Webster, of course, those courses will still count toward your bachelor's degree here.

Transfering to Webster
As you apply, we can estimate your academic eligibility (number of transfer credits, how they apply toward the American system and the predicted length of study at Webster) as well as inform you of all direct and indirect costs.  We also connect you with our academic advisors, to help you understand how many semesters you would have remaining (where your former credits could apply toward our Webster bachelor degree requirements), to ensure that you will reach your full academic potential at Webster Geneva.

Webster University (out of our St. Louis, USA campus) publishes a list of recognized international transfer credit systems online.  Students who have had prior learning that is not from an institutionally accredited university (ie, fully recognized by a national ministry or national department of education) may have the possibility to pursue CLEP examinations in relevant subject areas, to validate prior learning.  CLEP credits are also listed on the aforementioned website.
