About Webster University Geneva

For over 100 years, Webster University (St. Louis, USA, since 1915) has served students from around the world in search of a first-class higher education.  Webster University Geneva was the university's first international location, and remains the most culturally diverse campus within the Webster worldwide network.

Established in Switzerland in 1978, Webster University Geneva is an accredited American university campus that offers high-quality programs in English to students interested in a Bachelor (undergraduate level) or a Master (graduate-level) education.  It brings an American style of teaching, with its liberal arts curriculum, delivered in the culturally-rich context of Switzerland and community of "Genève internationale".

Located in the Commune of Bellevue, just a few kilometers from Geneva's central station (Gare Cornavin), the campus of Webster University Geneva includes several buildings in a park-style atmosphere.  The University offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs and conducts research across four major academic departments:  Business and Technology, International Relations, Media Communications and Psychology & Professional Counseling.  The University offers a broad range of bachelor degree programs (options to combine majors, minors and certificates) as well as master's degree and graduate certificate programs.

In addition to its Switzerland-based degree students, Webster University Geneva welcomes over 100 study abroad students each year.  The University also hosts academic conferences and a wide range of public events throughout the year, ranging from cutting-edge business topics to issues at the forefront of world affairs.

At Webster University Geneva, we support each student in their aspiration toward excellence.  This includes an academic resource center, for learning support toward enhanced academic achievement, as well as an academic Scholars' Program to inspire and motivate the school's highest academic performers.  Excellence is also encouraged in character development through participation in co-curricular activities, including service to the community through an optional Webster LEADS program, which earns a Leadership Certificate upon successful completion.

Learning in a Global Context

At Webster University Geneva, about 500 students per year, representing up to 90 distinct nationalities, come together in a community of learners engaged by a faculty representing 25 nations.  Webster's core curriculum, called the Global Citizenship Program, is required of all bachelor students, and is designed to support the development of global citizenship.  Students studying at Webster in Switzerland benefit from a worldwide network of Webster campuses that allows for exciting study abroad opportunities, while offering a unified academic experience, firmly grounded in Webster’s educational philosophy.
